Glass floor pricing depends on the type of product, the size, the specification, and — for cellar doors — the opening mechanism. We offer a range of standard sizes that are available to buy online at fixed prices — browse and order directly from our shop. The three product types and what affects their cost

Glass wine cellar doors and hatches

These are hinged glass trapdoors for accessing a wine cellar, basement, or storage area below floor level. Standard rectangular sizes are available to buy online from £1,000. Price is driven by:

• Size — standard rectangular openings are less expensive than large or irregular ones
• Mechanism — gas-strut assisted manual opening is the most popular and most affordable option; electric motorised versions cost more
• Shape — round doors for spiral cellars require more complex glass cutting and framing
• Frame finish — standard powder-coat is included; bespoke colours or finishes may add cost

Standard rectangular sizes start from £1,000. Larger, electric, or bespoke units are quoted individually — prices vary considerably depending on specification.

Glass well covers

Walk-on glass covers for basement light wells or pavement vaults. These need to be structurally rated and custom-made to fit the opening. Price is mainly driven by size and the load specification required. Get in touch with your opening dimensions for a quick indicative figure.

Walk-on glass floor panels

Internal glass floor panels for landings, mezzanines, staircase surrounds, and feature floors. Key cost factors:

• Glass thickness — 25.5mm toughened laminated glass for standard residential loads; 33mm for higher load requirements
• Panel size — larger panels cost more; very large spans may require intermediate framing
• Steel framework — included as standard; the complexity of the surround affects the cost
• Anti-slip finish — optional, but recommended for high-traffic or wet areas (tested to PTV 36+)

What’s not included in the price

We supply and deliver finished products to site. Installation — fitting the frame into your floor structure, making good the surrounding floor finish — is typically carried out by your builder or contractor. If you need help thinking through the installation, we’re happy to talk it through with you.
